Which marketplaces can I paste?
Listing import currently works best with Auto SAPO and Marktplaats, with more marketplaces supported to varying degrees. Where a listing can't be read directly, you can still enter the vehicle details manually.
How accurate is the ISV calculation?
ISV is calculated from the published 2026 Portuguese tax tables using the details you provide (engine, CO₂, fuel, age). It is as accurate as those inputs — which is why missing tax-critical data is flagged rather than guessed.
Can I calculate an imported car manually?
Yes. Choose import mode and enter the vehicle details yourself. You don't need a listing URL.
Does CarTaxPortugal include transport and registration costs?
It includes realistic estimates and ranges for import and admin costs. These are shown clearly as estimates because transport, broker and similar costs genuinely vary — they are not presented as exact figures.
Can I compare an imported car with one already in Portugal?
Yes. Compare mode puts two scenarios side by side — for example a car imported from abroad against one already registered in Portugal — including tax and import assumptions.
What happens if vehicle data is missing?
Tax-critical information that's missing is flagged so you know what still needs confirming, rather than being silently filled in with a guess.
